Technical Rescue

Brighton Fire Rescue District’s Technical Rescue Team, led by Captain Chris Forbes, specializes in providing expert response to high-risk and complex rescue situations. While all firefighters within the District are trained to handle technical rescue incidents, a select group of personnel undergoes advanced training to manage the more complex and hazardous scenarios.

To support these critical operations, the District maintains a fully equipped heavy rescue apparatus, housing the necessary tools and equipment to respond to a wide variety of emergencies. These include rope rescues, water rescues, confined space rescues, trench rescues, heavy vehicle stabilization and extrication, and structural collapse rescues.

In addition to its local capabilities, the Brighton Fire Rescue District is an active member of the North Area Technical Rescue Team (NATRT). This regional collaboration provides ongoing training opportunities and mutual aid, enabling the District to effectively respond to complex incidents throughout the North Area.
