Station 53 was built in 1983 to provided fire protection to the southern end of the Fire District. It was first staffed by volunteer firefighters. In 2004, the station was staffed full-time. In 2006, the station was remodeled. A third drive thru apparatus bay was added to the south side of the station, improved the kitchen, day room and living quarters. Currently there is a minimum of a Company Officer, Engineer and a firefighter on duty every day. Station #53 houses an Engine, Tender, Brush truck and a rescue boat.
Each fire station within the Fire District has a Captain assigned, they are responsible for the station. Captain Chris Forbes is assigned to Station 53. Captain Forbes has been with the Fire District since 2004. He held the rank of Career Firefighter/EMT, Engineer, Lieutenant before his promotion to Captain in 2015. He is part of the District’s Wildland Team, Technical Rescue Team, Swift Water Team and oversees the Physical Fitness Program.
